Swedish blue can come in a variety of shades of blue. Bergslaggsten which is the true name of “Swedish Blue” comes from central Sweden. There has said to have been mining and metalworking in the area. This stone is the run off material of the iron product the Swedish used to extract. Once the run off has reached high enough temperature slag is formed and floats to the top of the melt creating Swedish Blue.
